My grandmother too, was a TOS hater yet now is an avid fan of the remake. Get that damn miniseries and sit through all three hours of it, at once, BloodEagle :P

Stargate is popcorn entertainment, always has been and shall be. I like watching it for the laughs.

Hey, who turned out the lights?
I read in a paper or online that after Blink at one primary school which had gargoyles on the roof the kids would take it in turn to stand like a meerkat sentry-like watching the statues so they couldn't move. :D

Well, Steve Moffat owns that community.

 Most of my memories of Dr Who start at Tom Baker and Peter Davidson. Baker was great, Davidson was pretty much alright as well, in all honesty, but the writing was going downhill by that stage.

Then they had two rather iffy Doctors, though Sylvester McCoy was somewhat alleviated by having a bomb-mad assistant.

Betcha they'll never get Ace back into the series in today's climate ;)

By that point I lost interest until the new series.

Edit: Oddly enough, the new series seems to have, where possible, quietly ignored the bulk of that particular phase of it's life.

The remake couldn't be any more different from the original - it's a serious, gritty and well-acted drama rather than a shiny-clothes cheesfest with recycled footage every episode.

I can remember the original black and white films. Albeit vaguely.....

Oh and I saw both episodes just now (I missed the 1st half last time). Quite liked the arrival of the second Doc and they're like "Oi!" to each other.

There were no black and white films. The major selling point of the first two films were 'The Daleks! IN COLOUR!!"
