Statement from Sirian: "The Classics" is a mission pack for which I had high ambitions. I wanted to include all the most-loved and most-played levels from D1 and D2, or at least a good portion of them. #300baud Productions, for example, secured the right to do a D3 version of Megadeath from its original author. We wanted to include levels from NuKE, Spaz, Nirvana... either versions they did themselves, or versions that I (Sirian) did for them. Nirvana set out to make a level, but got interested in doing an all-new level, then scrapped it and started over, and it became SLW. But it took him so much work... he changed his mind about doing a level for this pack. Spaz, after promising ZappaFan that he would contact us and arrange either to do a level or perhaps let us do one... did not follow through. He never replied. LordDeath was doing the megadeath level but ran into technical problems and lost interest. Bottom Line here: Im going ahead and releasing MY portion of the set and washing my hands of the project (the same as I did for the 4Teams mission pack).
