I realize some of you read something similar to this over at HLP, but in matters such as these, there is no such thing too much information.
In a few short weeks I'm going to be getting a newer model video card to replace my aging GF4MX 420.
Now, what I want to know, minus any hype or BS, is whether I should get a
GeForce FX 5700 LE :
250 MHz (core clock)
1000 MTexels/s (fillrate)
128-bits
DDR
200 MHz (memory clock)
6.40 GB/s (memory bandwidth)
or a
Radeon 9600 :
325 MHz
1300 MTexels/s
128-bits
DDR
200 MHz
6.40 GB/s
This data was obtained from this chart, one of the most useful things since sliced bread.
What I need to know is how much the 9600's extra 75mhz improves it's real world performance. There is also a column call Trans on that chart, the 5700 rates higher in that column, what does it stand for?
Oh! I almost forgot, which one do you think I should get?
