No. 4, the Balalaika, it's got a lovely sound, and the others you can pick up far more easily, so it's best to secure the least well known one first

That makes sense to me, but will I ever find such a cheap Sax again?

It's a nice price for a Sax, and a nice Sax, but I suspect places like that frequently have special offers like this.
At the end of the day, the other question you have to ask yourself is 'do I want another stringed instrument?'

Based on l33tness, I'd say trumpet or sax. I might take up either myself, in the future.

Hell, I might forget about buying a new PC and just buy the lot.

You're gonna end up with a shelve full of instruments, but no idea how to play them.

i'd say grab the clarinet, it's only a tenner with P&P.
Those things are quite loud though, and AFAIK, a b**ch to learn to play.
i'd say pay for some lessons first....

That's a risk I'm willing to take.
Besides, I can pick stuff up pretty fast.

If you can play the Saxophone, you can pretty much play most reed instruments

I am tempted to get the sax, to hell with the cost, but then the Balalaika is just :smoke:

the choice between a balalaike and a sax, go for the sax, a balalaika is more a support then solo instrument, AFAIK

Well, now I've had time to think about it more, the EU is getting bigger, it may well be that the price of ethnic instruments in England will over the next few years.
The choice is yours, of course, The Balalaika is a great instrument, and it's something that would be cool to have in recordings etc, since almost no-one has one. But the Sax is cheap, and looks good, and give you a wider range of instruments
