Here is a Dell system I am considering buying. It's top of the line components (not second hand or ebay stuff) and going for about 450 pounds. Granted it's not the latest hardware, but I cannot afford nor need that kind of power.

Sounds not too bad, offhand. Be careful with dell, though, I think they're a bit overpriced. It's a shame Komplett are, AFAIK, out of business as I think they did me a pretty good deal on my PC.
Similar to my setup by the sounds of it (E6750 C2D?) - which i'm generally happy with, the odd slowdown on Far Cry 2 notwithstanding - but the graphics card is a smidgen old. Albeit how much do Dell price their LCDs at? Because I'm wondering if that'd be overpriced (hey, I can sell you a very nice but very heavy 19" Iiyama CRT with cracking quality...

The thing is Dell is trustworthy compared with just about every second-hand/internet portal computer. And because I'm in unfamiliar territory, I have NO idea what are good/bad brands in Korea. There are just endless hardware brands. One thing I do know though is that LG computers are not worth the price tag.
Keep in mind I'm ordering from Korea, not abroad. Imagine the postal charges? It'd DEFINITELY be not worth it that way around. I've been recommended Dell many times here. And because of the stronger pound right now, now is a good time... Oh and yes the LCD really knocks up the price tag. There are similar systems (without monitors) with bigger hard drives and more memory for less than the same total price.

Dell uses good stuff. Best of all they'll come to your home to fix the damn thing if it breaks under warranty, which is more than can be said for most companies.BloodEagle wrote:They use cheap parts.
