Heheh, I'd consider it as modelling has become a recent hobby of mine as of late. Now if you could organise a meet I could show you my modelling skills first hand :P

Is 256x256 at 24-bit D3's maximum? I don't recall atm, but I can throw a couple your way from old backgrounds of mine. Whether they're worthwhile or not is another matter.

Sure, that'd be great. 256 is maximum, yes, and I tend to use 128x128 because D3 gets a bit grumpy on certain machines. Maybe you could animate them a bit? You know, maybe a haze or a very slight trace of solar flares around the sphere. Also, I'm looking for gold / blue / red stars. :) TBH... I can do them myself, but it's crazy when you do a project entirely by yourself.
