I think it's like RTS games in that respect, sometimes lots of little units are a damn sight more dangerous than a few big ones. Too many targets to seriously reduce incoming fire quickly.

Most corps go nowhere ;) We could set out a plan for building POS's and things, but at this moment in time, if we did that, we'd get roasted by Dreadnoughts. We have neither the facilities or the funds.

We could join a larger megacorp, but then you would find that the freedom to wander around and play the game as you see fit would change, you'd also be a much much larger target to enemies of the mega-corp. You think N00bs in Ferox's are bad, just try being a member of a corp that annoys Band of Brothers or the like, then you'll find out what 'not being able to leave the Hisec' really means ;)

My biggest complaint is that we'd all earn a lot more money and probs have a lot more fun if we all went doing stuff together in our BS's instead of wandering off on our own. Level 4 missions and lo-sec rat hunting is the place to be, but it's not a lone sport anymore.

I'd prefer that too, save that I don't have a battleship. :P Though I will in the near future.

As for lowsec rat hunting, that's what I already do (.2). It isn't all it's cracked up to be. Matt can tell you too; we spent a lot of time wandering .1 space and saw mostly destroyer rats.

Well, to have everyone in BS's can actually be a little dangerous, it's good to have a few lighter craft around with EW stuff ;)

Yeah, 0.0 is where the big-boys are, but lower sec is still going to give you a lot better loot than 0.5 upwards, mining is becoming less and less profitable as a pastime.

I'm going to try and arrange some lvl 3 and 4 corp missions, in the next week or so :) But I need to be sure that people are aware of how to do things. It's like mining ops, some members tend to wander off to the other end of the field and start their own little operation etc, if people do that in lo-sec, they will be very very vulnerable indeed :(

My trial is gonna run out again soon... >..>;; Probably gonna transfer my loot to someone and make a new trial et cetera. I doubt I'd be able to make it to the big ships in 14 days >..>;

its made so that you cannot fly anything larger than a cruiser on the trial, and battleships and larger take several months of training to use teh guns and cool stuff

Running a POS is much easier than you think. It costs just 50mil to setup a small one, and about 150mil for a medium one. You can set one up in low-security space and be relatively safe most of the time. No dreadnought will destroy your insignificant POS, at least, its not very likely. You know it takes money and effort to move those things around? Dreadnought takes much time and money.

As suggest in corpmail by *forgot name* , theres a good place near New Eden for a POS. The only thing you'll want to do is maintain a steady supply of resources, escorting, scouting and keeping your POS well fueled.

the problem with some pos's, is that small towers can easily be seiged by a small fleet (especiall if armed only by 2 cruise missile launchers :D ), while large ones need more fuel. You can set up in highsec as well now, but no moon mining afaik.

Yes, both Small and Medium POS can easily be outranged, too. But - You still need a long time to take one down... Part of setting up a POS is putting one off the main routes. There are literally hundreds of POS in empire and the odds that someone will pick yours to ransom is highly unlikely.

Autocannons and ECM work well on a POS... But ofcourse, limited range.
