Juding from the fact that he got killed by a Battleship, I would assume he didn't put up much of a fight.
The one time I engaged in PvP was when I was training my alt 4 months ago. Me and some corpies(Naval Academy) were hunting in a 0.4 and either there was a ringer in our midst(there were several of us) or we jumped into a corp war. Anyway we were using a planet as a meeting point and when we warped in there was a Moa and a couple frigs waiting on us. I lasted exactly long enuogh to take 1 lousy increment of the moa's shields. At least I think it was a moa, it may have been an eagle.

My first Armageddon has died.

It was closer then it looked...he kept warping in and out of the belt (I have no idea why), so I reversed course and he warped in about 10km from me, then (only God knows why) decided this was a good range and opened fire. His guns weren't tracking so well at that range, but I didn't get closer because mine wouldn't either if I moved in.
In retrospect, I really should have just said to hell with my guns and gotten right up against his hull.

Maybe. But I would have lived a little longer at the least. Possibly he didn't have any and would have warped so I could get away.
It would have been better then what I actually did.

Actually, I did; he warped in and out at another belt I was at, but I cleared out anyways.
He kept warping in and out (25km, 30km, 40km, 30km) while I fought the belt rats at the second belt, and when he didn't fire the first time I cancelled my warp, because, well, at 25km if he'd decided to open fire I'd have been dead in two salvos and before I finished orienting. Instead he made a tactically incomprehensible decision. I'm used to thinking of my opponent as fairly smart...
