Is there any point to joining if being on the Uni's internet means I can't DL/UL an awful lot of stuff? Or is it a different sort of sharing?

Not a whole lot of activity going on in there, but can't hurt to join anyway. You might spot something you like one day.

Aye, it's mostly going to be for exclusive media, so you can download that fine - That'll HTTP hosted. As for things like FTP, Torrents and stuff, that's in early stages...
