My cat died today

Well, to be honest, we'd seen it coming for weeks, she was 15 years old, so not a bad age, but had really been ill these last few weeks. Took her to the vet this morning, she had pneumonia, fluid on the lungs, kidney problems and anaemia. It would have cost over £1000 pounds for treatment that she probably wouldn't have survived anyway, so I had to make the choice to end it there and then.

Sometimes I wonder if money isn't the most evil thing that Mankind has ever created :(

oooohhh... rought break man... :(

and beleive me, money is VERY bad invention. if people would just be like the Clans in BattleTech, then everything would be much more smooth... of cource, if someone did a sloppy model, someone else would challeng them to a fight to the death, saying that they are unfit to model... oh well :)

Well at least she had a full life. My cat was run over on September 11th, 2001. The driver mowed him down, and then drove off according to witnesses. He was a great cat-companion :(

I'm sorry to hear that Hunter, that's the worst way to lose a cat :(

Yeah, she had a good life, her brother is still going strong, and we have the dog as well, they help take the sting out a little :)

It's going to be wierd only putting down one cat bowl tonight though :(

Hey Flipside, I know how you feel. My dog died last year in May at the age of 16, after we'd spent 12 years of our lives together. I still miss her. Just be thankful you still have pets though; my mum refuses to get another dog... now I have a stray cat who comes to visit me.... *sigh* I like him though. Cats are such awesome animals :)

Thanks all :)

It's wierd, I've lost cats before, but I was younger then and they were my parents, not strictly 'mine'. It's the stupid little things that sneak up on you, like sidestepping at the bottom of the stairs in case she is sitting in her favourite 'please tread on me' spot. I still do it. I'm sure the habit will wear off, but you can't help but catch yourself just for a moment :)
