@ Raa: Oh... So much is explained, thanks.
@ Stryker: Shall I get wax for my ears now or wait 'till you finish?
@ Grug: Thanks ^^; I'm looking into getting that new audio card, and also Reason (Easy to use and fairly powerful music making program). After I get those, I can start actually getting some of my music down.
If you like mostly-orchestral music, ranging from repetitive, heroic-sounding gameplay music, to loooooong, epic-sounding dramatic pieces, then you might like some of my stuff. Key word: MIGHT... >_>
(This is one of the times I'm glad I'm proficient at playing keyboard/piano... Orchestral arrangements sound better and are easier

Yeah I kind of love the heroic music etc that goes with movies. Aka stuff simiar to LOTR sound track.
I know it usually over-romanticizes battles etc, but it always hits a nerve for me. Sometimes almost to the point of a tear... <.< >.>
Have you got any pieces with voice in it?
I think choirs \ voice in music brings a certain emotional power to things. If used correctly it can really drive home a point. Some of the Homeworld1 music is a good example.
I really should build a proper playlist to listen too comprised of some decent classical music. A few Red Russian choir(right name?) songs are alright, an example of their work being Hunt for Red October.

Umm... the beginning of that sounds an awful lot like the first contact music from First Contact.

Not bad at all Grug! Very atmospheric, personally, I'd have bought a Brass sound in to accompany the first section, but each to his own tastes
You do realise you buggers are going to start me writing music again

o.O I didn't write any of it, its all Stryker and Grimloq.
I'm just here criticizing their work, and hoping they'll be able to submit some work to TAP.
I don't think I've heard any of your pieces Flip, post some!

Recap of First Contact:
The Borg time travel back to earth to just before the warp drive was invented and we meet the Vulcans. Picard and the gang save the day and history is as it should be.

OH! So THAT'S where I got that bit from! Those first few seconds... I recycled that general theme in a few of my pieces

It sounds fantastic, and quickly changes to something totally different, but I've been tortured 'cause it sounds so familiar, but I couldn't figure out where I stole it from
Very nice, Flip.
As a side note, I'm signing up for a MIDI class this summer. Basically, it's on-your-own-time type of thing, so I just log in at least 4 hours a week at this studio place and attend the weekly 2-hour 'training' session, and viola, completion. The important part is I happen to be getting the music program they use there myself, so I get to do much stuff with it soon... ^_^

That track hasn't been progressing very quickly; I'm rather dissatisfied with how it's going. I do have the beginnings of another track though...
