Well for a start I've never been able to edit an 'autoexec.bat' file in WinXP.. i'm not even sure if one exists. You do it in a different way in XP.

I believe I have. From what I've gathered from my dad in XP Microsoft got rid of any DOS that was left and stuck in a crappy command prompt thingy instead. That's why the instructions for XP are different.

...zzzzzz *snort* huh wha-? oh hi! Sorry, but i've got stuff going on in real life, so its been slow posting-wise.... In any case, i am MUCH more computer literate than normal people, and in fact, there IS an autoexec.bat, its just..... REALLY hard to find. Instructions? please? oh, and yes i did read the scripting tutorial, the problem being that it just tells you to install the thing, not how. So, i tried to follow the instructions, even running that .bat file, but to no avail. I have a sinking feeling that that environmental variable might not exist in XP........ in which case i'm screwed and i might give up D3 altogether.

There's XP install instructions lower down in the .txt that the compiler comes with, IIRC.
