I'm thinking of closing the door to this place. It seems the only new users are just spam bots (or spam people it would seem, since the signup is a question & answer format). I won't close the forum, since I still have some uses for it, and it does contain a lot of archived posts. But I don't really see a need to keep registration enabled.
Alternatively I could implement some elaborate questions so that only someone that really wants to register will bother.
Re: Time to turn off the lights?
2Ok, I've nuked all the spammers I could find (accidentally nuked a real user in the process, doh..)
Registration is now invite only, so new members can only be approved by asking me directly or getting a referral from an existing user.

Re: Time to turn off the lights?
3This is a sound decision given the status of the forums. Who'd you nuke? or is that secret..

Re: Time to turn off the lights?
4Not at all. I was cleaning the spammers from the colonyborn thread (there were about 10 of them) and somehow I accidentally nuked the OP (protonjump). I probably have a backup somewhere, I'll see if I can restore it..
