I like Tropico 3, but don't you think it gets a bit shallow in sandbox once you pass the point of no return and thus are raking in dosh?Flipside wrote:Been playing Tropico 3, very addictive, as usual :/

There is a bit of a feeling that everything is crowded in at the start, I'll agree, the first 5 years are an absolute panic of trying to keep everyone happy at once, but then it mostly centres around building houses, churches and entertainment. I suppose my main complaint would be that you know within about 5 years of starting whether it's worth continuing or not.

Heh, probably true
The other thing that really winds me up is the fact that buildings don't always hook up to the road system correctly, and it's very difficult to fix, that and the inability to cycle through buildings of the same type (as far as I can tell) are probably the two most dissapointing parts of it. Not that it's a bad game, but because the Construction yard can get way behind on jobs, sometimes you can end up not remembering whether you've built stuff yet or not.

Yes
http://www.bigdownload.com/games/tropic ... co-3-demo/
It's a City-Builder game based on an Island in the Pacific, so it's about farming Coffee, fighting Rebels and trying to stay on the right side of both Superpowers. It's more tongue-in cheek than simulation, but still pretty fun to play
