I don't remember them saying that. I remember them saying: that they couldn't hold the door open, as it had safety protocols in place. Do you remember the time when they said that? Because it changes my perspective on that one moment entirely.Matthew wrote:Bloodeagle: *snip*
Though the show is... similar to a lot of other shows. It certainly isn't anything like the previous series.

I thought it was rather implied "safety protocols" being unable to be fooled by an inanimate object, or else an inanimate object just couldn't press the button?BloodEagle wrote:I don't remember them saying that. I remember them saying: *uber snip*Matthew wrote:Bloodeagle: *snip*

Well, I just finished Season1 of SG1. It was okay but not exactly great. If O'Neil had shagged every female that showed-up it could easily have been ST TOS.
Most series seem to be a bit poor in the first series, plus season1 has a decent cliff-hanger, so I'll probably push on with season2 soon.

It's been a while, but I definitely remember enjoying the following seasons a lot more than the 1st.CIH wrote:Well, I just finished Season1 of SG1. It was okay but not exactly great. If O'Neil had shagged every female that showed-up it could easily have been ST TOS.

Like I said, Children of the Gods, The Enemy Within, and Solitudes are some of my favorite episodes. (After that, however, I'd be hard-pressed to pick a favorite until the first time Daniel picks up a P90. And just to prove my variety of useless knowledge, I actually know when they went to P90s and when Daniel specifically first carried one. :/)

I'm actually loosely considering ST Voyager, y'know. It's the cheesiest of all cheese and I'd deny it to everyone who cared to ask, not to mention making unmarked copies and hiding them like cheap p0rn, but it's a nice bit of sunday-night TV stodge.
edit: Plus I've been casually watching it on various TV channels for years and never seen the end.

There were some good episodes.Top Gun wrote:I feel like I'm one of the few people on the planet who unironically greatly enjoyed Voyager.

Ah. So you say you're considering Star Trek: Voyager?CIH wrote:I'm actually loosely considering ST Voyager ... and I'd deny it to everyone who cared to ask

No! Actually I'm watching re-reuns on Virgin1. I think I just saw the cliffhanger final episode of S2.
Where the Nistrum (sp?) dudes nick Voyager and dump the crew on some planet.
I had a quick on Wiki to see where inthe timeline the reruns were and was shocked to see ST:V first aired back in 1995 ?! I thought it was much more recent than that....

The first few seasons of voyager blew, really bad. After the third season it did get better.
And the premise behind the season 2 finale was so proposterous. "Let's going running after someone who had proven over and over again she not only couldn't be trusted but was seriously out to get you and has a history of actively helping your enemy to do so."
Granted the premise in star trek can get a little whacky, but this was by far one of the worst ever.

One thing I'll give it credit for was the special effects were extremely good at the time.I had a quick on Wiki to see where inthe timeline the reruns were and was shocked to see ST:V first aired back in 1995 ?! I thought it was much more recent than that....
