Also SimTower's good for a laugh.

Jedi Outcast should also be in that time frame.
Not really a fan but I quite fancy SimCity. Is that the one where you can pick natural disasters, Godzilla attacks etc ? :D

MechCommander Gold.
Nah don't really like Jedi Outcast. Had that since it was new.
Mechcommander for sure but it doesn't come cheap on ebay etc

Shogo - Really awesome, a lot of fun.

Red Alert 2

Half Life 1
Alpha Centauri
I've never been able to make it work on Windows XP
Got Quake2 and Half Life (plus Opp. Force & Blue Shift). Had Shogo since new but it has issues on my current hardware :(
Red Alert 2 I'll get eventually.

Had a fair dabble with Evil Genius and DK2. Pretty similar but I prefer DK2. Haven't tried AlphaCentauri or Giants yet.

Now playing Planescape:Torment. I really hate RPGs when they numerous threads/open-ends so I'll probably get bored again.

Still, Homeworld took about 7 attempts before I stuck with it......

Shame, but since it uses the Quake 2 engine I'm surprised it would have problems. It was probably one of the most underrated/ignored diamonds of its time, since it was unfortunately eclipsed by Half Life.

So what kind of issues does it have?

Will have to check as I haven't tried it for a while.
I cna recall a period review in Manga Mania that declared it a decent game but you would need a monster machine to run it at it's best.

Wolfenstein 3D

No, srsly! I still play this piece of s###. I still spend quite some time playing through the levels trying to find all the secret doors and things.

Dark Forces II and Jedi Outcast were phenomenal games, it's just a shame that Academy couldn't live up to them :(

HUUUUUUUUGE RED TEXT TO GRAB ATTENTION

Has anyone here tried Quake Live?

www.quakelive.com

This may seem almost spambottish, or shamefully advertising in nature, but it's essentially Quake 3 Multiplayer with new maps and features for FREE. And you play it in your browser.

I've been hooked on it for a while now, give it a try!
