I just re-watched this movie fully for about the fourth time. It's not too shabby, after warming up to it a little bit. Despite it's rather lacking plot and no emotion in the whole thing, I actually found some of the scenes near the end to be quite "family" oriented, at least the scenes between the cast was like that. It was the same with Generations, the story was a flop, but the TNG crew interact so well - despite plot holes, IE Wolf. And albeit a disappointing blockbuster performance, the DVD has apparently sold very well. Still, my question is - What did YOU like about this movie, and why? I don't wanna hear what you didn't, because that's been covered enough anywhere

Although I didn't really like the film, I thought the battlescene(s) were very impressive (probably the the second best in Star Trek) . The best, incidently, was in the DS9 epsiode: 'Tears of the Prophets'.

I did quite like the Romulan ships (Valdores). It's always nice to see a new Romulan ship.

I thought it was a pretty good movie, the special effects were great, but it wasn't the best ST movie, it wasn't the worst either (Remembers Search for Spock).

I think they put together the film poorly though, it could've been better had it been longer aswell (45 minutes was cut)

why did Data have to die?!?!

It would have been better than seeing him go bald and get a beer-belly, trust me on this

I'd have rather seen B4 save piccard instead...

Data's death was the only emotional bit in the film, it was a bit corny - But I could almost sniffle over it while watching it. Mind you that's probably because I love his character, and not the fact the film killed him

And of course, knowing that Patrick Stewart looked like Dr Evil when he was young gives you a whole new insight on Star Trek

I think the problem is that ST keep trying to make episodes into movies, wheras Wrath of Khan, still the best one ever in my opinion, was the only one that wasn't a stand-alone (the Undiscovered Country was good, but was once again dealing with an old subject i.e. Klingons)

So theres a hint to ST writers everywhere, you don't need to think up new ideas to get fans, just about everyone is a closet ST fan, so just give us more of what we like

I dunno about all stand alone STs being a problem - I liked First Contact, which was stand alone, even if it did represent the beginning of the end for the borg (humanizing them through the queen I mean). Probl;em with Nemesis was that

A) They cut too much out

and

B) It simply didn't have a good basic concept. I mean, for all their efforts,a clone of picard building an invincible ship to destroy ll life on earth... it just doesn't sit right with me. But as Hunter said, this is about the good things, so I'll say I loved the Battle sequences, and most of the CGI in the movie actually (It was surprisingly moderate - proof to GL that CGI isn't the be all and end all - he'd've CGI'd the Remans ). And I thought Picard ramming the Scimitar was cool .

i really, really didn'tlike it, waay to many plotholes, and some other wierd stuff. it just didn' t feel like trek.
