All right, so Vasudan Commander's been going on for some time in
this thread about how he's a "professional voice actor," and that he's able to do a "perfect Samsa impression." Well, he finally put his money where his mouth was and posted a few voice samples. Now, maybe my ears are just off at this insane hour, but I don't hear anything particularly "professional," and that doesn't sound much at all like Lieutenant Samsa to me. (To be fair, it sounds as much like Samsa as my attempt at Petrarch sounded like Robert Loggia...that is to say, not too much.

) I don't want to come across as petty, but after he slammed the VA work that we did on Derelict, I was desperately hoping that I wouldn't be treated to an unbelievable piece of VA work and be forced to eat my own thoughts. Thankfully, it seems like I won't have to do so.
Now don't get me wrong; there's nothing at all particularly wrong about his voice, and I think he could do good work for any number of mods. However, if one labels oneself a "professional," one had better have the chops to back it up, and he definitely doesn't. I do plan to give him praise where praise is due; I just need to think about how to phrase it without coming across as too much of an ass.
A.K.A. Mongoose, for you HLP denizens
