Favour

Yo, I just need a favour from everyone who is willing - Well, not really a favour, just for you to each do something and tell me the results. I want you to feel the side of your stomach for me, on the right side, just below the right floating rib. Use your fingers, not your whole hand. Kind of run them "sideways", just feel around up/down, left/right etc. If your unsure where this is, it's the rib that sticks out the most in your stomach. Also feel the left side for reference. Don't feel the bone itself, but the area below it. I guess it may feel a little different depending how much muscle/fat you have - But it should be a relatively smooth area. If your still not sure where I mean, check this diagram out.

Now, can you bend your right arm behind your back (like your going to scratch your bum or something!) and lift your right leg slightly, but not actually off the ground - So it's kind of a tiptoe. Now, using your left hand, feel with your fingers on the right side in the same spot mentioned. Do you feel any muscle around this area? Maybe it feels like a lump, or a bump, or something that was harder to feel normally. If you don't feel anything, fine, but if you do - Try the same, except the other way around - Does it feel the same on the left side? Now, try some deep coughing if you can, and see if you can feel the muslcles externally moving, and how pronounced they are - Plus if there is any differences from left to right.

The reason I'm asking this is because I DO feel a lump around this area on the right side, that wasn't there before that I recall, and is no where near as pronounced as the left side (when feeling with fingers, but not to look at) - But the shape of it seems more muscular than anything else. I don't remember feeling it before, but another reason I'm mentioning this is because it's about the same location where I first got all my problems 3 months ago - Which triggered digestive problems etc. Those have improved now after being on medication for a while, but in the area just below my right rib I always feel kinda weird, sometimes a very short sting or ache, or sometimes it feels like I'm being poked with a finger. It's very irritating!

I have mentioned it to the doc, but he thinks it's muscular - Which for now, I'm enclined to go with. However all the other weird sensations don't really add up. Anyway, thanks for helping me out if you can! 8) I guess you could say I'm collecting some reference data. Paranoia is one of the most powerful things when your ill, you keep thinkinh.. Omph... whats that pain, whats that ache, whats that feeling? etc :x

I have to agree. I did the afore mentioned things... and I don't seem to feel what you're talking about... Sorry!

hunter, I kind of suspect a 'lump' is rather an arbitrary thing to check for, so I'm not sure how much good it'd to self-check, y'know?

I think WF studies / studied medicine, maybe she can help?

I got some very strange looks from my sister and found nothing, sorry.

Stick your finger in your bum, and wiggle it about whilst running down the street.
