I thought this was legit; it's suppossed to be a walking 'frame' for elderly, etc, with trouble walking (HAL stands for 'Hybrid Assistive Limb' or similar), and I've seen it mentioned seriously in a number of places (most recentlt http://www.engadget.com/entry/1234000517070706/).
And then I found the website; http://sanlab.kz.tsukuba.ac.jp/HAL/indexE.html
Look at the captions of the images......... eep!

The board included a bracket and a full stop.
I can't believe they're going to allow THAT to be in control of people's limbs.
"Why are you holding that sharp knife Timmy, you don't want to use that!"
"Desiahh is irrelevant.... I am controlled by a Machine"

Aren't the Merkins developing something similar for their Future Soldier project or whatever it's called? So they can carry more kit and stuff...?
Any fool can pull a trigger...

As the madmen play on words
And make us all dance to their song
To the tune of starving millions
To make a better kind of gun...
