f#####g max just crashed on me, losing about 5 hours of texturing work on the most pain-in-the-tits model in f#####g history because the old file won't god-damn reload......

When I'm modelling I tend to save with different file numbers. Wasteful of disk space? Yes, but a Truespace crash would have to take down all 260 iterations of the Styx before it wou;d completely wipe me out

Had that happen to me when Lightwave flunked whilst autosaving, it crashed the computer and screwed the file utterly. It's one of those things where you have no choice but just take a deep breath and say 's###.'

i agree with topgun
i had a skool project ready to hand in on my usb drive, go to print b4 lesson; 400 pages of corrupt file, from 2 pages of project.
i get a one-day extension, thinking ill be able to upload another copy, only to come home to "oh, just so you know, the computer's fucked beyond repair, we wont be getting a new one to put the remnants of harddrive in for 2 months..."

*sighs* this rants group really helps
