Decorating

I hate decorating. Not only is it exhausting, expensive, and irritating, but it's kept me offline for 2 days so far. The only plus side is planning horrible deaths for the next person in B&Q that tries to sell me either double glazing or a kitchen when I am decorating my bedroom :(

Or when you go into B&Q and ask one of the pimply faced youths for assistance. At which point they wander halfway up the store, then back, then halfway up again, then stop, look around and hum, and then - only then actually manage find the ONE PERSON IN THE BLOODY STORE who knows where everything is.

Sounds like someone needs to have a visit to Lowe's. Best damn hardware store on the planet.

Lowes is better than Home Depot... they're friendlier, and are generally more willing to help there, for one thing, and they have a better selection for another. Home Depot's reign is over.

That said, decorating is easy as hell. :p And if it was warmer I'd be getting my room painted about now. :P

My biggest problem with decorating is that it usually adds a lot of little nooks and crannies that are an absolute b#stard to dust properly.

Umm, my mom tells me it's the process of removing dust(dead skin cells, dirt particles, dust mites, ect) from surfaces before it sticks so you don't have to wash them as often.

Lowes wins for quality, prices, and friendlyness...

Home Depot wins for Old School though...

Actually, Home Quarters was good too :D ... (they were the green one that went out of business long ago...)...

I used to work for Marvin's. It's a local chain down here. The prices are usually better than Lowe's, but there was a shake up in the management and now a lot of the stuff they carry, lumber especially, isn't worth the difference. Paint's good though. I'm kinda glad I don't work there anymore, folks from there tell me the new upper level folk are abso-friggin-lutely insane.

At the time(the building boom of the late 90s) it wasn't that bad a place to work, except for the occasional long shift. And the full time hours at part time pay(I only ever made 6.25 an hour)

When I worked there there were a one-stop, and the older stores still are. But since the shakeup, the VP was embezzling money with help from several store managers apparently, they seem to be building locations in areas that have languished from being too small for a Lowes and too large not to have a full service hardware with the purchasing power 22 stores can provide.

I have to say, in all honesty, that with the exception of my coming to know Christ as my lord and saviour in 2001, my time at has been the best of my 26 years.
