I was just adding some stuff to my turrets, and just looked in Lithunwrap, and my jaw droped. I hit 603 polys, What is the should the limits be on turrets?

Depends on the whole model really....

Personally I recommend about 1000 for fighters and about 4000 max for capships, which is a little lower then Bobboau recommends.

That counts, btw, is for Lod0 with subsystems, but not Lods and debris.

Turret polycounts vary with the ship, but about 100 - 200 is good for the big capship turrets.
500 would be overdetailing it a bit i think.

There aren't actually any limits though.
