Hehe. You'll have to excuse the water horse.

As a modding community, we generally know how to do this. It's also kinda frowned upon, as it makes the game unstable, and you have virtually no control over the turrets. It's also unrealistic, but that's another story.
But yes, welcome to our little corner of hell. :D

Except, when I make a light cruiser it does not make the game unstable or make it crash when you die.It took me a lot of time to find out how. And the turrets fire on whatever you lock on. :)

It does make the game unstable, in the sense that if multiple turrets become damaged on your ship, the game cannot display more than a certain amount in the subsystem box, and the game will crash.

The turrets, also, generally have a mind of their own, from my experience.

Yeah, it does ,But, I have found out the secrets.First of all you cannot have more than 7 turrets. Secondly the ship cannot be over 200 meters long. If you do it right it will never crash. Belive Me i tested it to death. :D

Well, for a light cruiser it is. Its REALLY fun when that includes 2 Cap-Ship beams, 2 anti- fighter beams, 2 flak cannons, and a gun turret. And missiles and gun banks. I can kick Cains and Fenris's BUTTS. And maybe things bigger. :D :D :D :) :D

Yea, but I have toned down my cannons so they won't be that powerful. But, there is one problem with the cruiser i can't fix. Since i have to set the TAG as "bomber" to get the turrets to fire, their Cap-Ship beams won't fire on me.. :| But, that is kind of a good thing since my armor is low and they would kill me quickly.. :) so i say that it has advanced sensors so that capship can't shot them with their main cannons. But, fighters can kill me quick if they gang up on me... and bombers DECIMATE me..... :D
