No news yet. We have a contact in Southern Japan, which we will try to contact tonight, but we aren't even sure how recovered the South is from Yesterday's Typhoon.

No New is Good News though, since I would have thought the Embassy would have contacted us by now if anything had happened. Our best guess is that Mark might have been on that Bullet Train, but it's only a guess at the moment.

He's more than likely safe. As you say, the Japanese engineering is incredible. They know how to build to protect themselves from massive quakes.

LOL Well, the aftershocks are still going on, but yes, he was outside at the time, and, fortunately, due to the tectonica of the area, he didn't get hit too badly, but being 6'4 and weighing 19St, it takes quite a lot to move that centre of gravity around
