They're different genres. You can't compare them.
It's like comparing apples to Orangatangs.

I thought Halo 1 was shocking, it had a bland story with equally bland, repetitive gameplay and levels which generally consisted of a couple of rooms copied and pasted about 20 times. However from what I've heard this was due to Bungie having to rush the game out for the Xbox release (although I find this hard to believe since they'd been developing it years before the Xbox was even announced) so hopefully since Halo 2 isn't being rushed it will be good.

Halo (1) PC was pretty awful. Poor variety of weapons, repeated levels, ugly graphics coupled with astonishingly apalling performance, boring and derivative enemies, bog standard gameplay mechanics and uninspiring AI.
To be fair, the story was quite decent albeit derivative in many places, the weapons were better balanced than many games (pistol had a use thanks to the zoom, in particular), the Pelican kicked arse and the ship levels had (unfulfilled) potential to kick arse.
But not enough to stop it being the most overrated game in history. I cannot fathom how some magazines gave it high 90% and even 10/10 ratings - it's nowhere near as good as (i.e.) Goldeneye64, a far older game. I'd say maybe 70% would be fairer.

Console games do lot more money than PC games ever will do, it's that simple Halo 1 did sell 8 million copies about 90% was Xbox halo 1 sellsSwamp_Thing wrote:In the gaming industry, going Gold means it was finished, past the beta testing.
But if i read this right (and i didn´t), it means only for X-Box. Where´s the PC conversion, gawd dammit? Why are we PC users always getting the short end of the stick?
and about 10% halo 1 PC
I would expect that HALO 2 for pc comes next summer or fall it's depends who does conversion to pc

it all comes down to what is 'cool' at the time. thats why literally every teenager in the united states (i am NOT joking!) does that incredably stupid-looking 'pants-sag' thing. i mean, it restricts your movment, looks dumb, and your pants drag on the ground. why do they do it? (yes, that is a ninsult to anyone who does that. although its really only that one aspect...)
thus, in about 2 years, (if theres no halo 2 sequel) most people will barely remember what 'halo' is. makr my words. or not, if you want

- Fashion is in the eye of the beholder, much like beauty. Why do you write in run-on sentences and use poor spelling and grammer? It's annoying and makes you look more ignorant than your opinions do. Why do you do it?
That also brings to mind the question of how you could come to the conclusion that Halo is only popular because that's what the "in-crowd" (*cough... *cough...*) plays. I liked Halo, loved the story, thought it had nice play balance, got over the repetitiveness due to the gameplay, and still play Multiplayer. Are you saying that means I only like it because I want to be err... 'cool' ?
