Well my Christmas was ruined because I somehow caught a stomach bug and/or virus and ended up with diarrhea and vomiting for most of Christmas Day and couldn't eat a thing.
Worst. Christmas. Ever.
Re: Sick on Christmas

#4Most unfortunate.
I'd be cautious about eating out around Christmas time too.

#5I don't have a Christmas tradition, nor like a traditional Christmas meal, so Hunty, you're not "entirely" alone. I hope you feel better soon Have a wonderful 2018, everyone!

Re: Sick on Christmas
#6I haven't had a proper turkey dinner for Christmas since I came to China. So I can imagine how pissed off I'd be if I got the chance and fell ill. Hope you're feeling better by now.
Re: Sick on Christmas
#7I had a turkey dinner yesterday instead

#9I think I do prefer beef if the meat is soft and cooked well (can't stand chewy meat), but turkey goes down a treat!

#10I am not huge meat fan. Why not try some vegetarian or seafood dishes for a future Christmas feast?
Here are a few of my creations;
Fusion chunky vegetable soup
Curry rainbow trout with mint and lime
Seafood pasta with seared king scallops

#11It's a no from me. I like some of those dishes, but definitely not for Christmas! I do like fish but not a big fan of seafood generally speaking, and hot soups tend to mess with my sinuses.
Btw, prawns are the woodlice of the ocean. Did you know that?

I am glad that we aren't going to fight over food on the table if we dine together one day

#13I'll take the vegetable soup, providing it isn't boiling hot. Chuck some Tofu in there if you like

Re: Sick on Christmas
#14Yes, tofu (various types) is almost always in my vegetarian/ vegan dishes. The fusion vegetable soup was inspired by the Mediterranean vegetable soup, with a few twists including adding tofu
Oh, and I don't serve the vegetable soup super hot because all the greens will turn yellow or brown if over cooked with heat
