Noooooooo! I always run out
  • Wild FragariaThu May 11, 2017 11:10 am
I have not bought any sugar for the last 10 years!
  • XelionsThu May 11, 2017 6:38 pm
So you don't bake cakes, biscuits, pies or desserts of any kind?
  • HunterFri May 12, 2017 8:28 am
I don't use sugar, either. I don't take it in tea or coffee, and don't use it on cereals or anything.
  • HunterFri May 12, 2017 8:32 am
Everytime I visit the UK I notice how much sugar stuff has in it, in particular the confectionary.
  • Wild FragariaFri May 12, 2017 11:30 am
Yep, I don't bake dessert nor have a particularlly sweet tooth for them. I would buy cakes, cookies or pies if I have too. I suppose I can say I am quite sugar free (like Hunty) :) The sugar I get from my diet is typically from starch, fruits and vegetables. It's probably very unusual for many these days.
  • XelionsSat May 13, 2017 7:10 pm
I've never put sugar on ceral, not sure why you'd want to. Everyones definition of sugar is different - and I'm always referring to common cane sugar whether it be icing, white, brown or raw, not maple syrup or honey which is almost literally the same anyway.
  • XelionsSat May 13, 2017 7:13 pm
And sugar is found in abundance in prepared food that might not be categorised as sweet. You might think your avoiding sugar but it's everywhere. Watch those fruits, too much fructose is worse the cane sugar
  • HunterSat May 13, 2017 7:30 pm
You're right, but I am highly sensitive to the taste of sugar now. After living in Korea for 10 years, my tastebuds have changed quite a bit. What used to be regular-sweet or just 'a bit sweet' is now intensely sweet to my teeth. I literally cannot eat something like a Kit-Kat anymore, it's too sweet, and yet I'd gobble them up no problem just a decade ago. Cakes are even worse...
  • HunterSat May 13, 2017 7:31 pm
I'm not entirely sugar-free, though. I do enjoy the odd sweet thing, but the range of sweet foods I can eat is far smaller than it used to be. I prefer savory snacks now (unsalted nuts for example)
  • XelionsSat May 13, 2017 7:53 pm
So you don't eat Korean bbq? I believe the sweetness intensity is just correlated to getting older - I'm the same here, I don't really eat chocolates but do prefer cake and ice cream on occassion and it must meet my expectations of quality and taste
  • HunterSat May 13, 2017 7:56 pm
Not often, no... And don't forget that overseas food is going to be customized for the local market. If I have BBQ, it will be with the spicier sauces and not the sweet ones. I am certainly capable of eating sweet things, but I'm much pickier than I used to be - which I have to listen to time and time again from my mum who is constantly banging on about sugary things followed by ' DON'T YOU LIKE IT THEN?' if I can't stomach the sugar content.
  • XelionsSat May 13, 2017 8:02 pm
I looked up Korean bbq just to be sure it contained sugar  but I do hate the westernization of overseas cuisines. I prefer authentic but on a milder note. More vegetables less meat too. Mums can be like that aye :)
  • Wild FragariaSun May 14, 2017 12:49 am
I like this sugary discussion :P I don't eat much can fruits or veg. I like my fruits and veg fresh. I don't eat much meat, but I do like a good Korean BBQ and food very much. It would be lovely if I can have a bowl of Soondubu Jjigae for dinner tonight (but I already had some homemade seafood pizza). The other thing I am slightly addicted to is "KFC" (Korean Fried Chicken) - Bonchon Chicken. Yum!
  • HunterSun May 14, 2017 7:28 pm
You know Bonchon Chicken? You should tell me next time you land in Korea.. ;)
  • Wild FragariaWed May 24, 2017 11:53 pm
Ooo... it's that an invite for a night out? If I visit Korea, I will definitely give you a buzz. Again, I don't eat too much meat, but BonChon can very very addcitive. Everyone in my family loves it! In fact it was my bro who's the first to discover BonChon!
  • HunterFri May 26, 2017 12:24 pm
I'm not overly a huge eater myself. Small portions please..
  • HunterSun Jun 18, 2017 1:06 am
    Welp, back in Korea.
  • King HyralFri Jun 30, 2017 1:59 am
Argh, ants crawling up my leg!
  • HunterTue Jul 04, 2017 4:38 am
Try ant killer.. Oh wait, NOT ON YOUR LEG!!
  • XelionsWed Aug 23, 2017 3:16 pm
Really quiet here recently, anyone hear about that new B5 movie in production?
  • HunterThu Aug 24, 2017 2:53 am
What movie? I thought that never got off the ground?
  • HunterThu Aug 24, 2017 2:53 am
Searching online, I can't find anything new relating to that..
  • HunterThu Aug 24, 2017 2:54 am
I did hear about Stephen Furst though. :(
  • XelionsThu Aug 24, 2017 9:31 am
The 'one' that was mentioned in 2015/16. Don't recall hearing about it. Was there an idea or script leaked?
  • XelionsThu Aug 24, 2017 9:33 am
Was gonna post something on Furst in the Garibaldi thread a few weeks back but didn't have time to finish it :( I'll get to that on the weekend
  • HunterSat Aug 26, 2017 3:26 am
The B5 movie never got off the ground, and at this point probably never will. Do we really need one, though?
  • HunterSat Aug 26, 2017 5:10 am
With Sense8 finishing I guess JMS has something else to do, but I've heard StudioJMS isn't doing too great.
  • XelionsWed Aug 30, 2017 7:06 am
Yes.. dam it. I want to see Babylon 5 in 1080 or 4K
  • HunterWed Aug 30, 2017 1:51 pm
You already can. It's called Lost Tales. :P Well it's not 4k.. But the CGI could probably be rendered in 4k
  • XelionsSat Sep 02, 2017 11:24 am
I could live with it being 1 of the movies but Lost Tales... wasn't a fan of that particular episode
  • HunterSun Sep 03, 2017 1:55 am
Doesn't change the fact that B5 looks damn sexy.
  • HunterSun Sep 03, 2017 1:56 am
As for the story and execution... Well... JMS doesn't have a good track record when it comes to sequels.
  • HunterSun Sep 03, 2017 1:57 am
Take Legend of the Rangers for example. It seemed cool when I was a teen, but now I can't help but wonder what he was thinking when writing it.
  • XelionsTue Sep 05, 2017 6:26 am
I watched that recently and it has some good parts but it's just too cheesy
  • HunterTue Sep 05, 2017 12:30 pm
And it is G'Kars final appearance, although his reason for being in the movie does seem kind of ham fisted.
  • HunterFri Sep 08, 2017 7:37 am
I still can't believe how so many of the B5 cast have died. It really is like a curse, as people say.
  • HunterFri Sep 08, 2017 7:43 am
I've read that playing those characters could have contributed to their demise - as we all know stress and intense emotion can shorten lifespans. Sometimes it does seem like the B5 cast are paying the price of those characters flaws (many of which seem to eho the problems of the people playing them)
  • HunterFri Sep 08, 2017 7:44 am
It's one of the reasons B5 is so great, because the drama and suffering is so real.
  • XelionsSun Sep 10, 2017 7:34 pm
It was and still is a great show but theres no curse to speak of. From what I've read about each passing there is a story relating to either mental or phyiscal health thats caused by the consumption of something. People don't stop to think this 'something' actually can contribute greatly to a quick end, and in our society nothing seems to be done in moderation anymore.. its all overkill.
  • HunterTue Sep 12, 2017 1:07 am
Everyone has their problems in life - It's just that the B5 cast had problems that ended up killing them sooner than most. A damn shame. Chain smoking, alcohol and drug addiction, over-eating etc... These are all issues that affect at least one person in every family to be honest. My uncle for example died of liver cancer caused by the drugs he took often earlier in life.
  • XelionsMon Sep 18, 2017 6:23 pm
Shouldn't the life expectancy be going down not up...
  • HunterTue Sep 19, 2017 3:55 am
The life expectancy for men is across the board lower than women, though.
  • HunterThu Sep 28, 2017 12:51 pm
Check out Silent Fury Xelions, it has a lot of B5 influence ;)
  • XelionsMon Oct 09, 2017 6:02 pm
Checking it out  You say it uses the D3 engine, that mean it's still a vehicular first-person shooter?
  • HunterTue Oct 10, 2017 2:16 am
It plays just like D3, so 6-DOF shooter. It can be disorienting for newcomers, especially in a space setting with no horizon to ground you.
  • HunterTue Oct 10, 2017 2:17 am
I will probably record some videos later
  • XelionsMon Oct 23, 2017 2:34 pm
    Awesome :)
  • HunterSat Nov 04, 2017 4:31 am
Ahh.. there goes that brain of mine again with the constant bombardment of new ideas.
  • HunterMon Nov 13, 2017 3:35 am
Xelions what do you do again? You remind me of Black Wolf when he worked in the desert (or something like that) rarely to be heard from ;)
