When I started Freespace 2 Sector, only 4 percent of the worlds population had the Internet
When Sectorgame came online in 2001, only 5.8 percent of the population used the Internet.
Today that number is 50%.
It's amazing to think that when I personally started using the internet back in 1996, I was among a mere 0.4 percent of the worlds population to be doing so. Geez, what on earth did I do with all that time?
Re: We've gone from 4% to 50%
#2No internet for me in the old days. I was in school attending classes, taking music lessons, doing tracks and running a couple of school clubs

#3Nerrrrrrrrrrrd.
Though, to be fair, I envy you. I was always a bit of a rebel in the early days... Spending all those hours on the computer playing games, building websites... etc.

#4Boys tend to be more rebellious, no? To be fair, some girls are rebellious too, just in a slightly different way. I was thought to be quite stubborn and rebellious at one point too, when I was a lot younger

#5I was quietly rebellious, though. Never outwardly. But school clubs, music lessons? Hmm, never did any of those... Though I do regret not doing drama lessons. I really enjoyed that subject and it's the only one I was interested in and pretty good at. I feel it's the one thing in life I never got to pursue. I would love to do it again someday..

#6My family didn't even have home Internet access until 2001. On the plus side, I got to skip straight past dial-up to cable.

#7Wow, you don't know what you were missing with that dial-up Internet
And there was things like Compuserve, where I spent most of my youth..

#8Oh, I liked the dial-up noises, it was so futuristic (in a very old fashion way)!

#9Compuserve had like a file-sharing feature as I recall - possibly inside the various groups. I used to make some Descent remixes and short clips for fun, which I posted ... somewhere on there. I really can't remember much more. I was like, 12 or 13 at the time. My first foray into audio editing, I guess.

#12That makes me feel old. Still a baby-face, perhaps, but a few more grey hairs than a year ago...That sounds historic!

#13@ aldo - Yes, I had easy access to pianos during those years after I left home, but not after I left college. I am looking for a piano just now, hopefully I will find one some time in the near future.
@ Hunty - Lucky you only get gray hair! Some of my hair get multiple colors shades.

#14I'm not sure if that is the same problem If girls get gray hair does the entire hair strand turn gray, or just a bit at the top? How does that work?

#15You think you have it bad, I found my first white chest hair last week! I just ripped it out and denied it ever happened.
