That was scary. Let's hope it stays clear for another six months, since it's been at least seven since the last bandwidth overload.

Well, you _are_ allowing onsite avatars... which a few people are using, would account for some of it. Then you have TI's onsite music clips... etc...
Damn, just had to remind me how much I hate music on websites...
I almost had a heart attack when I saw "Bandwidth Limit Exceeded".

It was probably the added traffic from HLP being down for a couple of weekends, was the downloads section more busy than normal?
Good to be back

In any case, welcome back my friends to the show that ever ends...
It just has the occasional server errors and bandwidth problems.
Addennum: Hey, Hunter, is this thing supposed to be on Central time? I could have sworn it was on Eastern before everything crashed...

Server has always been GMT. Isn't it anymore?
Oh, and, no, website traffic was only 30% higher than normal. Downloads are steady as always and don't generate much of the traffic. People were obviously browsing around with nothing to do, but It was definitely the forum. And I don't remember enabling avatar uploads, only linking.

Testing, testing...
Addennum: Nope, definitely Central Daylight Savings time. Wait, there might be something about displayed time in preferences that could ahve gotten messed up.
Addition: Crap. It's set for GMT-5 hours, which is my timezone. It's an hour off.

Apparently not... If it was, it would have worked for me at 8:00 Wendsday night... AS is is, it didn't appear for me (even with constant refreshing) untill 11:00
last night

Meh, I could have sworn someone used that option.
Would it be a good idea to put your and Hippo's avatars on sectorfiles.com instead? Every little bit
does count.
[edit]and if possible, maybe the ungodly forum images. That Sectorgame image is 24kb...you could load a few pages for that size

Actually Hippo, the admins never restored the website. I emailed them and they said, with bad grammer and spelling that the bandwidth limit had been reached. So I basically got mad at them, telling them that was LAST month, and proceeded with a full compliment of screenshots to prove it. THATs why it took an extra day to fix.

Jeez, you don't have much luck with ISP's do you?
Well, remember to demand a reduction in this months charges for the loss of a days use
