So what do you all think about the whole Gay Marrages vs Civil Unions?

Personally, I think that its the non-gay homophobes trying to make themselves superior to the Gay's, so they can gloat about like, "Ha Ha, I'm married, and you can't be."

I think it's abour fear and sexual insecurity to be honest. You know your own orientation, and nobody will, or indeed can change you from it, gays understand and accept this, homophobes, however, lack the self confidence.

By not allowing gays the right to marry each other, is the same as saying 'You are less than us, you are a subspecies of humanity', and it is no better than slavery.

That is all I have to say on the matter

Gay marriage is a great idea. By not letting gay couples get married the senators are denying fundamental constitutional rights to these people.

I know someone who was married but he divorced his partner (Liberator would have a field day with that, depsite the fact it was nothing to do with infidelity). He doesn't feel the need to marry his current partner, but since I spent about 4 years carrying on a long distance relationship with Sharon before we got a place together, I really feel for them that they cannot even hold hands in public for fear of reactions from Homophobes.
It's hard enough to want to show someone affection and you can't because they aren't there, it's even worse when they are there and you can't because of other peoples ignorance.

This is too obvious to even discuss it in any form.

Anything other than allowing it would be a crime against the rights of those people.
