I've read some articles about this and was almost going to purchase a Comodo SSL Certificate, but I decided to rummage around some of the sites I visit. I noticed Hunter you used Let's Encrypt? Any good? Any pitfalls or traps along the way I should be aware of?

You only need a Comodo certificate if you process things like credit cards on your site. A free one works fine for everything else. Cloudflare can also provide SSL protection.

It's relatively easy to setup if you use a control panel.. What is your server config?
