Keeping in mind Vasudan Admirals' recent beautiful exposé of his wonderful 3D-Printed FreeSpace Models,
this particular article caught my eye in an unrelated late-night Googling.
When suddenly...
Thompson reports on Wired.com that Games Workshop issued a cease-and-desist letter to Thingiverse for publishing 3D plans of Warhammer-style figurines
Of course this is nothing out of the ordinary, as Games Workshop are well known for their cease and desist spam.
But naturally I looked on Thingiverse for Warhammer models out of sheer curiosity.
I couldn't find any. None whatsoever.

Like the ipad and it's tablet clones, it's nearly impossible to completely stop someone copying your work. I am pretty sure someone in their basement somewhere will be printing out Warhammer models as we speak.

The fact that you can't find anything suggests that they removed them.

GW is notoriously copyright-happy.
And it's probably better than the finecast s### they use these days...

Didn't work for me at the time. I assumed it was the Great Firewall again.
