It's like distributed computing, but with humans. All the brainpower otherwise lost while gaming, can now be put to good use

Bet they're currently getting a lot of traffic, the site (fold.it) has got "technical problems".

I wound up downloading the software myself after hearing the news. It seems very interesting, from the little bit I've played with it so far.
