Thanks all. Just got up from celebrating my birthday. It was a pretty good night out.
Looks like the first of many early mornings though. We have classes Saturday and Sunday so that we can get 3 days off for the Dragon Boat Festival. Which of course means that I have to get up at 2am to watch England vs USA and then go to a lesson at 8am. Oh well, it should be a good weekend despite that.

Corrected it for you.
Only joking, there is the possibility they could surprise us in the same way Senegal surprised the hell out of France a while back. The USA team has been getting better for quite a while and the fact that they didn't win a single game last time has to sting a little so I'm definitely not writing them off.

They certainly surprised Robert Green....
USA were disappointing, though - surprisingly one paced IMO. Donovan was the only standout for me, Cherundolo did ok, otherwise they didn't have the quality of control and passing you expect from a good international team. Neither did England.
Mind you, Algeria and Slovenia are f#####g
awful.
(EDIT: oooh, Algerian keeper howler. Good for my 1-0 predictor prediction

)

My home team didn't qualify...

I was in Japan for a short but intense business trip. I only had a couple of days to wonder around Tokyo metropolitan area and Yokohama. I plan to visit again at the end of the year for a proper vacation. I can perhaps include Korea in my itinerary
