Curious about current resolution trends. I was going to make a poll but then realized there are too many resolutions if you include Widescreen options. So, just type it down please. :)

I use 1680x1050 (Widescreen).

1024x768 for regular tasks.

1280x960 for new games.

1600x1200 for old games (when available), video editing, etc.

Same here, but x2

But sadly only 1024x768 on my laptop. Though I got it for free so I can't complain...

1680x1050 , but I play FS at 1400x1050 so I don't have the distortion.

1680x1050 (16:10) on both my desktop and laptop.

Might hook one of those up to my TV and run at 1080p / 720p one day, now I think of it.

1400x900 widescreen because it syncs well with most games, which don't seem to support other widescreen settings. :P

Through HDMI?

Actually, I need to investigate RE: sound - I don't think the usual DVI/VGA - HDMI adaptors carry any audio, do they? (that, and HDMI adaptors seem very expensive IMO)

I don't think so either aldo, but some PCs have a digital audio out on them. Surprisingly, my crappy HP PC has a pretty decent sound card with digital out :P

Oh and BTW, 1440 x 900 (There is no such thing as 1400 x 900 guys :P)

1280x960 for normal tasks,
1024x768 for FreeSpace,
800x600 for other games.

Blame the ancient PC for that :P

1280x960, since I'm still rockin' the CRT. :P I have to dial that down to 1024x768 or even 800x600 depending on what game I'm attempting to play, though.

Are you guys serious? I can't stand player games at 1260x960, much less 800x600 o_0

Firstly, my video card would most likely melt if I tried to do anything more, and secondly, I'd like to actually be able to see what I'm doing. :P
