Signature piccys

I find them really grating, like someone going to the shops wearing a normal t-shirt, jeans, and silver codpiece with 'BIG MAN' written in flashing lights.

Can we remove them or something please? Or am I just being easily annoyed again?

(EDIT; of course, I can use adblock for images, but that's a sticking plaster solution)

I agree, they are annoying.

Gah, I was just in the process of creating a thread about this myself. :P Yeah, I'd love to see them banished to the netherworld from whence they came, even if it's via individual request rather than forum hard-coding.

If they're tasteful (see: not large and working with the colour scheme) then I don't mind them.

That's rarely the case, however.

All in favour of a rule stating 'tasteful' banners only?

Could have waited UNTIL I read this.

No waiting. We've never allowed those kind of signatures at SG, it's just people rarely use them. This is not a recent rule.

Aye.

I'd be up for a rule stating no images at all outside of the occasional smiley.

What about avatars?

They're usually small enough to be ignored.

I have a better rule for sig pics: If at any time your sig pic is larger than your post (the text writing part) it is too big. This cannot be loopholed by

putting spaces into posts...

So...any word on this? Certain examples of these things (I'm sure I don't have to name names) are intensely annoying at the moment. We've never had any need for sig images in the past; in fact, up until a few recent arrivals shoehorned them in there, I was under the impression that they'd always been blocked.

Staff, please continue this discussion in the staff section. We can decide there what to do with each siggy.
