Has anyone else seen Battlestar Galactica 2003, if so, what are your thoughts? It seems to have totally rewritten the original in places, introducing new elements. I still don't get the history behind Galactica, such as that why and how they are humans and if so, is Earth simply an offshoot of "them"?

Very nice battle scenes, the most realistic of any science fiction show I have seen to date.

I keep meaning to watch that, I think I'm a bit nervous it'll ruin my memories of youth

It isn't, only Sci-Fi USA, and was only a 4 part-miniseries (decision for a series has yet to be made)
