Because we'd lose all the mods and would have to rebuild a template. This version of Phpbb2 is so heavily modified, it's literally not the same code anymore.
Please give me several good reasons for upgrading (adding yet more to my work load) and I'll consider it.

Also there's option for saving post drafst etc etc.

We've had the spam stuff in the past. Do you see any spam bots anymore? Nope. Security got a boost.
