Just to alert people that sometime in the next 1-3 days we will be switching to a new server. This may or may not go smoothly depending on various factors. Either way, some things will take longer to restore than others - but the forums should be the easiest to transfer.

Is that new server faster, or something?

And what factors wheter it goes smoothly or not does it depend on?

Well if it isn't faster we'll change back, quite simple. The main reason is because it has no restrictions, which means I don't have to concern with bandwidth. Moving files and databases is easy, however I need to establish user accounts and separate folder permissions manually.

Not like we need much bandwidth....

We use almost 90-95% of our allocation each month, if any projects are released in the near future we'll need more.

Really? I was away from the site for 3 months IIRC but there was only 2 new pages of stuff on this forum.

It's not the forums that take traffic, though they do account for about 25%.
