But...

Made the missus motion sick.

Highly recommend it - probably the most genuinely intense film I've seen since, um.... ever.

Depends what you mean. It's obviously clear there's a monster rampaging around New York (which is only really revealed and properly visible close to the end), but where it comes from, what it's doing in NY, etc, is left pretty much unknown - as is what is going on in the world around. Basically, imagine how much you'd know if such a thing actually happened (the strength of the movie is making it seem plausible and as if you're right there), and that's how much info you'd get.

I've had a dream like that before. The feeling is really.. like nothing one can clearly describe. A fear that cannot be explained. Something like that? Sounds good

I watched a film critic programme about it. Apparantly, if you think of the twin towers attack footage (dust clouds ripping through streets etc) it's alot like that.

I might try and see it. Haven't seen AvP Requim yet and I quite fancy that.

It's filmed in an unusual way and it has achieved an unexpectedly good motion effects. Very simple story line but no at all boring to watch. Worth the time and money

I got sick (like I always am when watching IMAX), but I did not throw up. I guess it's probably a girl thing...

Why do American producers hate New York so much? There's barely an action film around that doesn't blow it up, smash it, drown it or otherwise abuse it, might make an interesting study into the Post 9/11 psyche in that City.

Can you name a more recognisable place for a monster?

It's not hating NY, but simply because it's hard to find any where else in the world that is packed with so many cool and tall buildings.

Do you think the movie will work as well if it's set in London, Paris, Tokyo, Beijing or Cairo??

London - too many people would cheer
Paris - too many americans would cheer
Tokyo - That's Godzillas town!
Beijing - Glorious peoples republic can defeat even monster of capitalist greed (that, and pretend it doesn't exist)
Cairo - dust would get up monsters nose

Besides, the Mummies would take down the monster, no problemo
