Cold Weather (Wind) & Me

Winter has arrived. The days are now slowly getting to become 0-5c on average, with the wind chill factor making it a nice -5c feeling. For me, winter is a time of comfortable nights in and freezing walks outside. There is a nice balance between the windy, dark & freezing days and the sunny, chilly but still days. The latter I love! Winter sunshine is like magic to your face. But the dreaded congestion is playing me up yet again for the 2nd, 3rd or even 4th year running now. I've lost count how long it's been since I've had this problem because I never knew it WAS a condition until I realised that I was one of few people suffering from this. Let me run through some of the problems I get during the Winter. First, I get a runny nose - Like when you have a cold. It's not a nice feeling sniffing every 30 seconds. All of that drips down the back of my throat, too. This is something I have YEAR round but it's most noticable in the extreme cold or humid environments. That also causes my throat to get swollen, resulting in dry, stuffy sore feelings in the morning - With bad breathe to boot. Then if that wasn't bad enough - The ears! My ears hurt like hell everytime they are exposed to wind and cold below about 5c temperatures. Also they often get blocked, and I can sometimes hear my voice echoed in my eardrum (you know that deep annoying sound that prevents you from talking like a normal person) - Particulary after about half hour of exposure. Then the eyes, they might sting or water a bit too. And the weird thing is, I even sweat and get itchy (from sweating) in winter due to my body overheating - Yet in 30c summer heat I hardly sweat much at all. What gives?

How can I be rid of this congestion that never goes away?? I have it year round, but it's most annoying in the Winter time. My ears are loaded with the stuff too - If I try to do jumpropes for example, my ears start to fill up with congestion like water rushing in! I've tried nose sprays, tablets, vics.. etc. :x

I hate winter. It's always cold. It's always dark. Usually raining. And technically is't still Autum (probably).

And don't get me started on christmas.

Roll on spring.

edit: Oh, I always get congestion. Sometimes to the point that my ear channels get blocked and I go deaf in one ear. Sudafed usually clears it up.

I love summer, for the record. And it's basically been summer for the last month, and will continue to be summer for the next 3 or 4. Christmas barbies in 40+ C are brilliant.

big fluffy bunnies aren't wrapped up in anything though, they run about naked in their own skin and fur....

Well, now you run around in their skin and fur and they are not happy about it.

Cold is preferable to heat, as you can only take off so much...
