Headaches and commands

Hi y'all. I havn't been on the FS2 modding scene very recently (I have been tied up with command and conquer stuff) so previously dehd projects are springing up like daisies and saying 'finish me w#nk#r!'. Unfortunately, I can remember exactly why I did not finish them. One such project has an extremely annoying headache that came with it that I have come to ask for guidance on it's resolution.

In this mod, you are required to have fighter-sqaudron leader-like command over... ships. Big ships. For example, telling the Colossus to 'move there' or 'disable my target' or 'form on my wing'. I managed to achieve this, by going into the Ships.tbl file and changing it so that these ships were classed as fighters. This however had blatant but unforseen side-effects. For example, the colossus can now do a full 90 degree turn on the y axis in a few seconds, in the tech library it moves much faster, and as the biggest problem of all, it is not targetable by large beams. To this I say "Poo Toss" as I do not know how to change it. Could someone please help me to make it so that the capital status has standard fighter orders?

Use the objecttypes.tbl! ;)

I recommend making a "fightercap" object type. This type should be based on the "cruiser," all you need to do is add the player orders you want... I'm not too sure about that but it should work.

Ok, thanks for the help on that but I have a subsequent question. Upon pasting the code into a table it looks very... wrong.

Does it have to be layed out nice and neatly in fancy columns or can it just be a great long line?

Great long line works, AFAIK.

Oh, BTW, you could use .tbm files if you can't find the full text for Objecttypes.tbl.

Yeah I'm using -obt.tbms
And what does AFAIK stand for?

"As far as I know," meaning I'm not a fully reliable source...

So sorry,
I have another question anyway! What is the circumference of a Moose?

I mean what would I enter in the 'Name' column there for a Juggernaut? Would it be that or would it be SuperCap or something?

All Juggs (Colossus + Sath) are Supercaps...
