Nothing wrong with drinking. Just don't be f#####g stupid enough to drive afterwards.
Personally I still reckon that they're going the wrong way with the drink driving campaigns these days. The social responsibility is all well and good but I want to see more adverts like
this one.
If you pursuade people that only assholes drive drunk you'll get far fewer people doing it than simply trying to get them to do it to avoid the concequences. Public information films do a really bad job of making it seem uncool to do drugs or drive drunk. Something like that would have a much bigger effect.

They're kind of targeting the wrong kind of drunk drivers, IMHO. The blood alcohol limit keeps getting lower and lower, but all that does is catch more and more of the casual drinkers that generally are a danger only to themselves.
Instead of targeting the casual guys (presumably so they can flaunt their tally of DUI arrests) they should focus more on the repeat offenders and the hard-core drinkers, the ones who get so sloshed that they don't know what they're doing, have a lead foot on the freeway, and are more likely than not to fall asleep at the wheel. Those drivers are the ones most likely to cause the kinds of crashes like the one above.

If they're drunk and on the road, they're a danger to everyone....

While I agree that any drink driver is a danger Goober is right that the persistent offenders are a bigger problem in that they do it all the time and don't care how far over the limit they actually are.
Right now the main punishment for someone caught drunk driving is a licence suspension. Given that the drunk driver didn't give a toss about putting his own life in danger when breaking the law to drive drunk I very much doubt he's going to care about if he has a license or not.
And while we're at it what kind of stupidity leads a judge to think that the correct sentence for someone caught driving with a suspended license is to just give them a longer suspension?
