The Kazan thread got me wondering. Who in the FS2 community does everyone chat to IM. Not project related stuff cause we all have to do that to some degree. What I'm wondering is if there are any people who you actually talk to about things beyond FS2.

Since I'm starting this I suppose I should go first

I chat to Lt. CannonFodder a lot, pretty much every day. He's the only person apart from WF that I've actually met in person. (Which is ironic considering that I know at least a few members live within 10 miles of me and he's from Finland. )

I used to talk to Miburo\Lady Rose about as much (Another Finn! ) until he vanished into the ether.

I've already mentioned Skippy on the other thread.

Apart from that I only chat to other people occasionally or mainly about FS2 stuff.

From this community? The only people I talk to with anything close to frequency is Fragaria, Mad bomber, and Grug. Bloody Grug needs to get his fecking arse back online... And back in the day, before everything went horribly wrong for him, Shadowwolf_IH.

I used to talk to sandwich a lot, and skippy, and I would bug styxx from time to time... But these days, aside from the aforementioned three, no one writes to me, nor me to them anymore.

I have kj, Tarry, Steve, Marty and Gruggy on my regular IM buddy list. I occasionally chat to several other poeple through PM

Yeah, Gruggy hasn't been around for ages. Maybe we scare his nipples away and he needs some time off to find new ones??

Well, I tend to phase in and out of contact with people. I used to be in regular contact with many people in the FS2 community. I've been friends with Thunder (Kalfireth) for many years. And ofcourse, theres those here who play EVE where we spark a conversation from time to time, such as Flipside and Hippo who I've also known for years now too. It's weird how you speak to people, then suddenly don't. I must've known a hundred people between the Descent and Freespace communities. But I don't use messengers much anymore (after 10 years you get annoyed with messengers...)

aside from that, like IM, i used to bug Raa from time to time on ICQ but thats about it, dont get on it much anymore

I used to talk to Sesq on ICQ alot back before he got married.

I'm still about, just havn't been at home of late.
Uni has been flat out, plus I got work experience at a web dev company (work from home). So free time has been zilch.

But yah, I talk to Tarry most of the time, used to chat to WF alot too but havn't been awake at the right times lately, Skippy I'll have the odd chat with, used to rotate in the EvE circle too but havn't played in ages. I 'sort' of chat to aldo, except only just lately because its hard to catch him online and then one or both of us are busy.

But yeah, most reguarly would be Taristin when I'm online. (and he's awake)
Otherwise just the usual circle of RL friends etcetera. ^_^

Edit: Oh, and I did try and chat to Mefusta, but he wasn't very chatty.

Mainly just Poay (WF) and Skippy until lately. Talked to aldo a few times bothering him with various modelmaking errata but most other people I speak to on the forums or via PM. I've had to cull my list in GAIM recently and pretty much remove everyone that's not a close friend.

There are only a limited number of hours in the day and I have to be a little selfish and only talk to the people who I want to or see often.

Dumped on dial-up so IM is a distant memory. Back in my high-speed days, betwen working on Raider Wars, I use to chew the fat with IPAndrews and some of the RW crew.

The only other occasion was the LAM gig we did through here a while ago (feels like years ago but must've only been, what, < 6 months ago ? Can't even remember)

Do you ever bother with HLP Hunter ?

BTW, what's StratComm up to these days ? Can't recall seeing him post anywhere for a while.....

Loosely on topic, I speak alot of the mantaclub.org guys at car shows, pub meets, phone 'n' what not.

You're not saying the right things, trees are a picky lot.

I talk to my plants and they understand me. I occasionally say hi to trees.
