Just a little something that I threw together for another forum a few weeks ago. I'm not sure how well it'll be recieved here but I thought I'd post it anyhow. It's pretty straightforward but if any of you try and get stuck just tell me the step number and I'll try to clarify.

This one's a little different as most origami models start from a single square, this one starts from 2 which is easier shown than described so on with the show.

Step 1
You can start from an A4 page if you wish but try it from an A5 (half of an A4) as it's easier to handle. Fold the page in half. Fold the two corners down into the middle. Unfold and this is what you should have. If you fold from the bottom corner of each of the two folds we just made you create this line. Carefully remove the bottom section. I'd advise using a knife or scissors if you're not good at tidy tearing along creases. You'll end up with two attached squares. Easy eh? Step 2
Fold the alternate diagonals in both squares (we're just pre-folding for the next few steps so you don't need to worry if it's a valley or a mountain fold). Step 3
Fold in half lengthways. Step 4
Fold each of the two squares in half.

Step 5
Fold across the two small squares along the mid-line. Step 6
The only thing you'll need to be careful about from now on is which of the two squares you're folding. Valley fold the two corners into the middle thus: Step 7
This bit isn't a fine art or anything, just try to copy it as well as you can, fold the two corners back trying to get these creases, notice that they aren't parrallel to the diagonals but intentionally skewed. I unfolded them here for the photos but you don't need to. Step 8
Fold A to B and C to D using the creases we already formed. Step 9

We're going to be folding along the dotted line here. Step 11
Here's the result when done on both sides, unfold both the corners after you've made them: Step 12
Ok we're going to be forming this crease next, it'll be a mountain fold so the paper will be folding 'underneath'. As you create the fold the little triangles that you folded earlier should collapse with the fold.

If you could x-ray through the paper the (slightly skewed ) red line is what you would see behind. Step 15
Do the other side in the same way and you'll get this: Step 16
The red lines denote valley folds and the green are mountain folds, Note the letters, they'll show you where everything ends up in step 17. We're not creating any new folds here, the paper will simply collapse along the folds we made earlier. Step 17
See where the points marked with letters ended up and how they got there? The bit to the left is simply where the second square has tilted forward. Step 18
This bit looks tricky but it's actually straightforward. You stick your finger in between the two halfs (my right fore-finger in this case) and open them up a bit, then you start to push the section on the left between them. Step 19
As you push it down and in the two points will want to move together as the arrows denote. Step 20
They should mirror each other when fully brought together and the paper should be pretty flat.

Step 22
Onto the head. Take a look at the next two steps before doing any folding, you want to fold each of the two layers of paper seperatley. Notice that there's still a layer behind. Step 23
Fold the other one from the opposite side. Step 24
Unfold both and reverse fold them. This is what you'll get: Step 25
Now you have three layers, valley fold the topmost one along this line: To get this: Step 26
Doing the same on the other side will end up looking like this:

Time to form the ears, this doesn't have to be totally as shown, just as accurately as you can. Step 28

The snout is another thing you'll have to try and gauge yourself, valley fold along here: Step 30

Unfold both and now we're going to do another couple of reverse folds, the first is along the first snout line we made, I've opened the paper out a little to show you what's happening: Another x-ray line for you to see where the paper ends up (sortof):

Reverse fold the second 'snout fold' to bring the point of the snout out again. Simply flatten out the paper a bit and turn the fold out: Flattening gets you this: And another x-ray just to show you where all of the folds should end up: Step 33
Open the paper out a little again and we're going to valley fold the point back onto the snout: Like this: To get this when flattened: Step 34
Fold the ears forwards again and that's the head finished.

Step 35
Now we angle the neck, looks a bit complicated but follow the pictures and you'll see it's quite straightforward. Make this valley fold, doesn't have to be super accurate, take a look at the next picture to see what happens. Notice the head's angle to the body? Depending on how you fold this you can get a pig that looks a little depressed or a pig that's looking for heavenly inspiration. Step 36
Unfold the neck and take a look at the wee pocket I've marked out. I collapse the neck fold on both sides thus: And tuck the protruding bits into the pocket I marked and it's mirror on the other side. Flattening everything again gets us this: Step 37
No self respecting pig leaves home without his tail so valley fold along this line: To get this:

Fold the point back up thus:
And viola! One cellulose based porcine wonder. The only thing you need to do now is decide if he's going to market, staying at home or eating roast beef. I'd watch out for the roast beef eating ones though, little bastards tend to like the taste of human flesh.

There are quite a few crane diagrams on the web but if you want me to do a photo tutorial I can.

As for dinosaur, there's a lot of different designs.

No, it was the crane, but you could refold the wings and tail to make yourself a little raptor-esque dinosaur. I'll find something and try it.
