hey guys new poster, for some reason i just cant stop playin these games,
i've had them both +sthreat for years now and still, 2 of the best games i've ever played since syndicate,dune2,and heaps of other defining titles.

i got a new noob stick the other day 'logitech force3dpro' any good? its the first stick i've used since my c64...

so im sorta reliving the games again with the stick (gonna take a while to readjust)

is there any freespace network running somewhere? for multiplayer that is?
i've heard of people using the hamachi vpn for games.. any leads?

Same stick I use myself. I find it a pretty nice stick to use. Only problem I've ever had with it is that the twist axis gets out of calibration very easily. Apart from that it's fine.

I've heard of this too but I don't remember any details. Heading over to HLP and doing a search for Hamachi should turn up details.

Personally I play IP games with the 303 Squadron a lot. They seem to be pretty welcoming to new people. More details here or you could just visit them on their own forum.

If you do want to play with them you will have to use FS2_Open though. More info on where to get FS2_Open etc is in my FAQ.

thanks for the info guys, it seems theres fs2open and fs2netd or something going around, all with different builds and bugs no doubt..

err but im a little lost, i havnt touched the freespace online scene since pxo back in the days..

it seems theyre trying to remake pxo through the scp as well, very cool.

im not sure what build or what fs2 i should be getting tho as they appear to have differences ( i know nothing lol)

i was thinking of perhaps waiting till they get it all right, then try again

but if i cant wait till then ,what do i need?

Qwer has just IM'd me saying that the 303 are going to be running a game at 6pm GMT. If you catch me on ICQ (156694411) or Yahoo (Karajorma) about half an hour before that I'll talk you through everything you need to do.

Before you contact me you should have installed FS2 from the 3CDs and have nothing else installed (No mods, no copies of FS2_Open etc) if possible. I presume that's your current set up anyway
