Welp, after doing some tidying, I decided to make a thread featuring some highlights of the Co-Op games that me and Hippo have been running for the past two years. Suffice to say, they were fun, and although I'm sure we'll get to play more again, other things are taking up our time right now. So here's to Descent 3! I picked just the best of Action, Ambient and Scenic shots.

I can't help but laugh at the image with Hippo getting fried in the proving grounds :P

I've always wanted to join in with one of these..

We need to dig up some levels we've not played (if any) sometime. I'm sure there is something to play... Oh, and remember that mod we did by making the gunboys actually useful? We should toy around with things like that too, hehe.

Another game I need to try. Argh!

And what's up with the little hooded dudes?

I once played a game of halcyon with jon_the_great where he turned the regular gunboys into those miniboss things from mercenary.

That wasn't useful so much as overkill

I played that also. They fought each other, too. ;)

What did you change? make them fire 3 Homing missles at the same time? I would like to do a co-op game...but I don't have "anytime" nt acess and I would like to use my Blackhawk Digital Pro, but unless there's way to do a nety game through a LAN? It would also be cool if we could setup some kind of real-time voice communications.

You can connect to another person's ip address if you want to. You just have to coordinate in advance.

Roger wilco or teamspeak will get the job done. I guess now google chat does too.

No, I gave them a rapid firing yellow-gun thingy. Think Microwave from Divided. And I changed them to a bot with manueverability. Oh, and I gave them some christmas lights.

Yes, you definitely need to try D3, or any of the Descent titles, for that matter. :) The little hooded dudes are nomads living on Mars who became physically deformed after too much radiation exposure. They appear in the sixth level of the main D3 campaign. The only real notable thing about them is that they subtract from your score if you go around shooting them. :P

You mean Cloaking IV, and Jump Drive I ;)

Hmm, now I think about it, those energy bots in Proving Grounds have some good nosferatus.

ugh proving grounds was a pain. The boss is probably a bit easier with 2 people though. Still not as painful as the second bonus level. Frag turrets 4tl.
