I have finally got my hands on this awesome game (it's taken about 3 months of searching!!! ). only problem is that i cant seem 2 get any higher res than 640x480. i am running a geforce 2, but when teh program detects it, it only comes up with that res! as you can guess it aint particularly pretty
This seemed to be one of the more active Freespace sites, and would appreciate any help.

FreeSpace also supports 1024x768, and I'm entirely unsure why it isn't able to detect your compatibility with that resolution. GeForce2 cards can support that resolution fine. Make sure you monitor is capable (right click desktop-->properties-->settings-->Pull slider to see if 1024x768 is an option)
Make sure you have the latest FreeSpace patch installed

If none of that helps, I'm not sure what the problem is. If you are running FreeSpace 2, try out the Source Code Project and see if that helps.

Did you get the HotU version? That only supprts 640 out of the box, though it can be upgraded if you've got the bandwidth to grab all the big stuff - don't have a URL off the toip of my head though...

ta very much folks. ah, looks like im am usin the HotU version. Bandwidth aint a prob but HotU link has removed the files cos the game is being re-released. (And what an expensive re-release it is! )
So i was just wonderin if n e 1 knew of any current places hosting the extra files.
If not suppose i'll have to shell out 30quid.

If you can't find any files over at HLP I might be able to ship a copy to you, whether its free will depend on your location and shipping costs.
What Country (Of course my guess is the UK - u mentioned quid) and City do u live in?
