Odd log-out bug?

For awhile now, I've been wondering why I'm forced to log in at SectorGame every time I visit, even if I've already visited in the same day. Well, I've discovered the source, if not the solution, of the bug. Here's the situation:

1) Whenever I visit http://www.sectorgame.com/forums/index.php, accessed via favorites, the forum sees my cookie and remembers me as logged in.

2) Whenever I visit http://sectorgame.com/forums/, the forum does not remember me, for whatever reason. I have to keep logging in (and losing my "posts read" history) every time I arrive via this link (accessed by me typing "sectorgame.com/forums" in the address bar, which is shorter than the full address).

Now that I know what's going on, I'll be sure to arrive via the proper link. However, I'm curious as to the cause of this bug. Any ideas? Any way to fix it?

My bookmark is "http://www.sectorgame.com/forum".

I've never had the problem you've mentioned though. =/

My bookmark is http://www.sectorgame.com/forums/index. ... b9ee07c958
And I'm never asked to log in.

:nervous:

My browser is set to medium level security and never have any problems... Seems to be kinda random. Will have to wait and see how many others get it before attempting to find a solution.

It seems to be entirely dependent on whether "www" is in the URL or not.

Must be how the cookies are setup then. Changing them however just makes things worse, as none of us could log in when I tried to do that. I think the title for this thread should be "old log-out bug" ;)
